Watercolor of quiet Louisiana buildings and swamp edge

The Basin swallowed the town years back. What’s left stands on piers that still hold despite the floods. I poured the wash slow, same as I pour a footer — let the pigment settle, then lift where the light hits the cypress knees.

One day we’ll build on new worlds. Foundations still need to breathe with the land.
