<p>Every morning, before the spin-up, I take two minutes with the rig. Hydraulics hum a note — a steady pump is a clean A. A skip in the stroke means air in the line, and air gets fixed on the ground, not fifty feet down where nobody's watching your gauges but you.</p>

||
|

<p><strong style="color:var(--hyd)">The drill won't lie to you.</strong> Aluminum lies, torque specs argue, but the feel of the rod through your boots is the truest instrument on any site.</p>

<p>Rigs aren't the only machines with a heartbeat. I build cars — carbureted and swapped — and the same logic holds: a clean idle is a clean fire. And when the wrenches are down, I DJ. The rhythm of two turntables is the rhythm of a steady pump: if you lose the beat, you lose the room.</p>
