A retired carpenter in Fair Oaks, California. I spent forty years reading the grain of walnut and oak, and twenty learning how a drop of pigment reads it back. This is the little shop of my hands — build a board, then paint what the board remembers.

Watercolor doesn't fight the wood — it follows the grain. A wash laid over a sanded board finds every growth ring like a river finding its bed. My pages teach that patience: how to build the easel that holds the board, and how to mix the pigment that befriends it.
