<h3>Why every motion is a promise</h3>
|
|
<p>The hood at ten past seven runs laminar flow — a curtain of HEPA-filtered air moving in one direction only, out toward you. That air keeps the product sterile. The moment I reach across the field, or stir the air with a nervous stab, I break the promise that curtain is making.</p>
|
|
<p>I'm the biggest contaminant in the room. So the procedure isn't about me being careful — it's about me being <em>clockwork</em>:</p>
|
|

<li><strong>Wash</strong> — two minutes, warm water, to the elbow.</li>
|
|
<li><strong>Gown</strong> — hair cover, mask, sterile gloves with the cuff pulled <em>over</em> the sleeve. Every seam sealed.</li>
|
|
<li><strong>Draw up</strong> — snap the ampule away, vent the vial, withdraw in one clean sweep.</li>
|
|
<li><strong>Check</strong> — label, dose, beyond-use date. Then the incubator has the final word.</li>
|
|

<h3>The incubator is my umpire</h3>
|
|
<p>Every batch I compound gets media-fill tested — the growth medium sits where the drug sat. If it comes back clean after the incubation window, my technique held. If not, I hear about it on the next shift's report.</p>
|
|
<p>That clean silence at the end of a run? That's the highest compliment my craft pays. It's the same trust-in-the-process discipline I thread through compliance audits and through mentoring the new techs on our bench — slow hands, sealed edges, no shortcuts.</p>
|

<p>And it rhymes with the neighbors who know the exact same feeling at the end of a different tool: the wrench that clicks true, the water that hums home.</p>
