<spanclass="title">100 seconds on pouring concrete in salt air</span>
<p>The Gulf eats a rushed pour. Salt gets into the capillary pores and the steel inside rusts from the first wet tide. The cure isn't strength — it's discipline: mist the slab, keep it wet, and wait a full seven days before the first load ever touches it. Most of the trade looks for the shortcut; the slab knows the difference.</p>

<p>Concrete is a <ahref="https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q22657">composite construction material</a> — cement, mixing water, aggregate, and additives. Get the water wrong and it's mush that crumbles in the salt breeze; get the cure wrong and it's a ticking clock of rebar rust. Around here, everything I build answers to the same judge: the tide coming back twice a day.</p>
